80s bus stop

I've been dying to take some outfit photos at the 80s bus stop. Today, Pete and I rode our bikes to fulfill this fantasy of mine. I think this may be my favorite photo shoot yet.

primo vintage Moschino

This absurd yet fabulous vintage Moschino Teddy Bear dress is on sale on ebay. Unfortunately, it's $2,975.00. An absurdist piece of art, but in the best way, like Erskine Caldwell's "God Little Acre" or Samuel Beckett's "Waiting for Godot." It will stand the test of time. This piece probably comes from A/W 1988/89, as that is when the teddy bear headpiece was created.


If you've got the funds, and have no qualms about spending ridiculous amounts of money on clothing, and are hopelessly devoted to vintage Moschino, you can buy this dress here. Just don't tell me, I'll die of jealousy.

Claire Inc is selling another stellar vintage Moschino piece on ebay - Vintage colorblock suede fringe jacket.


IT costs $576.44, but I put in my best offer of $200. I'm pretty certain that price is not gonna fly with Claire Inc. I'm a quite the fan of this ebay store. They have tons of vintage designer pieces, mostly from the 80s and 90s, and tons of vintage Moschino. I suggest visiting this store if you like 80s/90s vintage Norma Kamali, Kenzo, Sonia Rykiel, etc. They really have some good shit in their store. Do you think this little plug will get me the jacket for $200? haha.

So, dudes, I'm going to San Francisco tomorrow until Sunday to attend that Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in Golden Gate Park. If you've never heard of this event before, it's a free 3-day music festival, paid for by billionaire philanthropist, Warren Hellman, with some of my favorite artists performing. I am most excited to see Bonnie Prince Billy and Patti Smith!!!! But there are so many, many artists that I'm overjoyed to see perform, some for the first time, others I've seen many times. Plus, I love to visit San Francisco whenever I get the chance. If you're in the area, I suggest you attend this event, and please say hello too. I'll share some of my whisky with you. I'm pretty happy with my wardrobe choices for this event. I wanted to pack really light, so I'll be wearing the same pair of shoes for the whole weekend (this is a first!). Sunday, I'm going to top off the event, by wearing the beautiful 1930s dandelion seed dress that I bought from Clever Nettle. Patti Smith will be performing Sunday, and I reckon she'd be fond of this dress too.

I'm going to try and post pictures of today's outfit later on. But if I don't get around to it, I just want to say, thanks for reading my blog, and have a great weekend.

Crosses, Horses, and 80s bandage

Had a very relaxing weekend – mostly hanging out with my niece and Pete, car show, impromptu bbq, Trivial Pursuit (80s edition for teens) with friends. I thought it’d be funny, if next time we play Trivial Pursuit, I present an actual piece of pie for the first piece of pie each player earns. I love pie, and friends have started to expect it at my house. I also took a lot of pictures with my new vintage Pentax camera, though none of the pictures turned out, mostly on account of having a dead battery. Blah! I obviously have more to learn. The weather in Long Beach was wacky - windy & chilly at times, other times blazing hot. I suppose I should mentally prepare myself for the inevitable Fall. My wardrobe doesn’t mind Fall, but my soul does. I am Summer’s child.








Outfit: Did you notice that I’m wearing 2 different earrings - a horse & a cross. 80s floral crop top, 80s bandage hot pink skirt, and vintage men’s shirt (everything thrifted). Vintage Teal Dobb's hat (instant gift from a cool old dude that I met once) Just bought the cross necklace at the Farmer’s Market last week. I’ve been looking for a simple cross necklace. Anna is wearing an 80s sun dress & one of my hats.

I found several of these 80s sequin bustier tops at a thrift store in Lancaster, CA, the other day. $7.99 each (kind of expensive) I only purchased 2 -- 1 for me, and 1 for the shop.

Right to Bear Arms

Boy, do I covet this outfit from Jeremy Scott's "Right to Bear Arms" Collection from Spring 2007. I love the 80s inspired, ridiculously huge telephone & telephone cord print! I'm not sure how I can get a hold of this piece. About 6 months ago, I saw Jeremy Scott strolling around the Rose Bowl Flea Market in an eccentric outfit, while I was selling vintage clothing. I almost asked him if he had this outfit lying around his studio & if he could sell it to me, but I wussed out. So, if anyone has the hook up for this outfit, please let me know.

fun outfits from the Archives

Do I look like Fran Drescher in "the Nanny" in this? I'm wearing an 80s Vintage Emanuel Ungaro jacket (much like Marc Jacob's Fall 2009 80s inspired big-shoulder jackets), 80s bandage checkered dress (tucked in), 80s suede color block skirt, checkered tights, and vintage Calvin Klein orange pumps. Love this outfit. I was so proud of it, that I rushed over to my girlfriend's house across the street, so that she could take a picture.

I sold this 80s splatter paint dress on Ebay because I thought it made me look too flat chested. I still, however, love the print. Here it is paired with my favorite jacket of all time:


Here I am in London wearing an 80s "pop art" bandage dress, with LLTT holster bag (made by Elliott, whom I'm laughing at), and vintage hush puppies. I also sold this dress on Ebay, not really sure why.

Beautiful 60s chiffon pleated ruffle maxi dress was too big for me, so I sold it on Ebay. This was my guitar, but I'm no guitarist, so I donated it to some creative kids in need.

I don't even know where this 60s tshirt dress is.

along California’s Central Coast

We leisurely rambled along California’s central coast, stopping at every outlook, exploring several beaches, amidst the fog, and wind. The central coast is so beautiful, I felt proud to live in California. On this trip home, my girlfriend, Judy Gloom, (whom I call Snide after her first roller derby name “Jenny Snide”) told me that I make noises like Pee Wee Herman when I’m excited. Well, I must of sounded awful silly because I was exuberant at every stop. Under the influence of the coast’s beauty, I happily did a little jig on the beach; I’ve included some pictures in this post. It took us about 12 hours from Monterey to Los Angeles, which is much longer than it would normally take, but it was definitely worth it.








I'm wearing an 80s 2-piece tribalish outfit by Contempo Casuals. Contempo Casuals was so amazing in the 80s. I have many vintage pieces from this brand, and they're always unique and remarkable. I found this outfit at the thrift store, bien sur.
