If you want to feel(and look) like a kid again, throw on a pair of overalls. These overalls are extra special because they're tan corduroy. After all these years, I just realized that that the straps need to be crossed in the back for a proper fit. This jumper is almost too tight, so I better wear it while I still can.

Forgot to mention that I dyed my hair red about a month ago. I like it because it looks natural (I had red hair a good portion of my teenage years; it somehow turned red following a bad perm, and then red again after the bleaching incident, and throughout my life there were always many red hairs along with the brown)but it's starting to really match my skin color, and I'm not sure how I feel about that. I can not stop getting tan. I'm using sunblock but the sun is hot on my tail. ok, enough about me. do you have any hair horror stories to tell? do you have any outfits that slow down the aging process?

Many thanks to Peteheart for taking the photos.

Outfit:70s top & overalls (thrifted); 70s shoes (vintage store in Lancaster, PA)

  1. Love these shots! I haven't worn overalls since I was a kid! But I remember being about 10 years old and desperately wanting a pair!

  3. I thought your hair looked redder, you look adorable in those overalls. Most of my dresses, particularly the ruffled and lace ones knock off at least 5 years, and ballet pumps make me feel about 8 as do all my band tshirts. My hair has been going grey since I was 19 so I am constantly torn between dying it (and wrecking it) to cover it up, or being very en trend and just accepting it! x

  4. Oh, I thought your hair was redder than usual! It looks great. I've been trying to ward off a tan too (I get ridiculously dark!) but I fear it's a losing battle for me as well, as I love being outside too much. I love your outfit, I've been on the lookout for some vintage short-overalls in railroad stripes.

  5. That last photo is so great! It makes me think of Jodi Foster in Taxi Driver maybe a bit more wholesome though ;)

Love love the overalls! I was addicted to them in the 90's and never really stopped loving them I must admit. I recently thrifted a vintage pair of brown corduroy full-length ones myself that I've been sporting lately. They really do make you feel like a kid!

  6. Missa,

I totally had Jodi Foster in Taxi Driver in my head when I constructed this outfit. I can't wait to see your thrifted vintage brown cord overalls. I'm betting you'll look darn cute.
